OYO, India’s largest hospitality company, has shattered any lingering misconceptions about its business model and brand offering. Firmly showcasing its expertise in core hospitality sector, the start-up won four awards at the recently-held Hotelier India Awards. It is the only non-traditional hospitality company to be recognized at this well-regarded hotel industry forum. In another display of its leadership and capability building, OYO led the honours tally in its segment.
The awards were keenly contested by the best of the hotel industry in India, and OYO was shortlisted for 9 awards in the Economy-to-Budget Hotels category of which it won the following four:
- Sales/Revenue Person of the Year – Satyarth Singh Parihar
- Procurement Manager of the Year – Saurabh Makhariya
- Project Manager of the Year – Ashish Singla
- PR Person of the Year – Poonam Thakur
Sharing his pride at the accolades, Mr. Ritesh Agarwal, Founder & CEO, OYO said, “It is an absolute honour and a matter of great pride for OYO to be recognized and felicitated at this forum. We are strong believers and let our hard work do all the talking. We have fought hard to be counted as a hotel company and these awards – presided and conferred by an august jury comprising the best leaders in India’s hospitality space – should leave no doubt that OYO is a hotel company. Through sheer hard work and commitment, our teams have built capabilities to deliver excellent guest experience in the segment where we operate.”
Ritesh further added, “I’d like to congratulate our 2500-strong team, each of who have contributed to this recognition. I am also thankful to the jury for opening their doors and hearts to OYO. We look forward to many more years of a winning association.”
This is OYO’s second showing at Hotelier Awards. During the last edition, Ashutosh Bhardwaj, Guest Leader at OYO Flagship Paharganj, was recognized as the Runner-up in the ‘Front Office Manager of the Year’ category.
