OYO opens new office in Lucknow to capitalize on demand in Uttar Pradesh

OYO, India’s largest hospitality company, has relocated to a new, larger office in Lucknow, as it seeks to expand its footprint and leverage high demand in Uttar Pradesh. The 3,000 square feet OYO office is located near Shalimar Tower, Vibhuti Khand, Gomti Nagar and was inaugurated by Sh. Awanish Kumar Awasthi, Principal Secretary and DG-Department of Tourism, Govt. of UP.

Elaborating on the move, Shubham Bahal, Hub Head – Lucknow, OYO, said: “We have witnessed a strong demand for OYO’s offering of beautiful and quality living spaces in Uttar Pradesh. Hence we’ve decided to ramp up our presence in the region with the new office launch in Lucknow. In 2018, we aim to venture deeper into the market and tap the potential Uttar Pradesh offers. Being bullish on growth, we look forward to expanding our footprint through a larger share of inventory and occupy greater market-share. In Lucknow itself, we’ve seen a twofold growth in supply and revenue in the past 6 months and we want to keep this momentum going in 2018.”

OYO has invested in building the UP market through innovative tie-ups and promotions. It has briskly expanded presence in the region since its launch in 2015 in Varanasi and transformed the budget hospitality sector via standardizing hotel rooms and exercising end-to-end control over hotel operations and ensuring a quality experience for its guests. OYO currently enjoys a strong network of 4,000 exclusively-controlled rooms across UP and is targeting a 2.5X growth by the end of 2018.

Shubham emphasized that OYO has been at the forefront of modernizing the small and budget hotels category in Uttar Pradesh: “We aim to add 10,000 more exclusively controlled rooms in our network by the end of 2018. Our aim is to create a perfect balance between location, comfort and pricing by using technology and talent to deliver affordable hotel accommodation. We are also engaging with various stakeholders in creating partnerships that help us make new experiences accessible to tourists.”
