PUMA, the fastest sportswear brand in the world, has been recognised as one of the Top 10 Best Retail Companies to Work For in 2016 in India. Competing with 7000 companies across 50 countries, PUMA India successfully stands at no eight in India as part of the Great Place to Work® survey. The award ceremony was held as part of the Retail Leadership Summit 2016, at the Renaissance Hotel in Mumbai today.
PUMA’s work culture strongly reflects values of passion, teamwork and cooperation. As a global sportswear brand, PUMA firmly cements health and fitness as a part of their work philosophy. The brand values can prominently be seen in PUMA’s inter office sports league and the office atmosphere. The new office has been designed in a manner where employees can engage in a friendly competition at the gaming area, unwind over a cup of coffee and catch a game at the amphitheatre.
On receiving the award, PUMA India MD, Mr. Abhishek Ganguly said– “We at PUMA India are very delighted to bag the spot of number eight. Winning this award is a great achievement and we are proud to be amongst the top 10 again this year. At PUMA we have a very unique work environment that strongly embodies a combination of passion and team work. We work closely to support each other so we can truly imbibe the brand ethos of Forever Faster to grow together and be a bigger and better brand.”
PUMA is a young organization with an average age below 30 years. The needs, motivation and inspiration for PUMA employees is very different from other traditional organisations. We strive to create an engaging environment for employees by talking to them in their language – an open and flexible work environment, quick appreciation, clear channels of communication, visibility to their growth path and above all a fun atmosphere at work. Being a sports brand, we have inherently used ‘Sports’ as a medium to connect with this Gen Y. Having said that, the emphasis on performance never takes a back seat and high performance is rewarded with recognition in many ways.
Great Place to Work® is known for surveying over 12 million employees from over 7,000 organizations in over 50 countries every year and its methodology is recognised as rigorous and objective, setting the standard for defining great workplaces for business, academia and government use. For the fourth year in a row, Great Place to Work® Institute and Retailers Association of India (RAI) have identified India’s Best Retail Companies to Work For. Great Place to Work® Institute assessed participating organizations by administering a survey on a representative sample of employees from every organization and studied their people management practices.
