COLORS Bangla brings the magic of theatre to the small screen with its new offering, HOMETHEATRE

Rejuvenating the oldest form of performing arts, COLORS Bangla raises the curtains on its newest production HOMETHEATRE. Conceptualized and Produced by Bratya Basu, together with COLORS Bangla, the show will present the works of famous playwrights like Ujjwal Chattopadhyay, Bratya Basu, Bibhash Chakroborty and many others. Airing every Sunday, HOMETHEATRE comes to television screens on Sunday, April 16 at 6pm.

Journeying to the earliest medium of entertainment, HOMETHEATRE will revive and recreate 24 of the most enigmatic theatre tales for television audience. Roping in famous theatre and television personalities such as Debshankar Halder, Soumitra Chattopadhyay, Goutam Halder, Subhashis Mukherjee, Rittwik, Satabdi Roy, Anirban Bhattacharya, Debjani and many more, HOMETHEATRE will bring alive the critically acclaimed plays in various genres including, Drama, Romance, Thrillers, Comedy, Social Issues et all though Boma, Meghe Dhaka Tara, Adya Sesh Rajani, Teesta, Joy Maa Kali Boarding, Srimoti Bhoyonkori, and others.

Commenting on the launch, Rahul Chakravarti, Business Head COLORS Bangla and COLORS Odia said “Theatre has been an integral part of the rich culture and heritage of West Bengal. Over the years, television and other avenues have replaced the traditional theatre performances, but the art is certainly not lost. Through HOMETHEATRE we hope to not only bring back the beautiful performances to television audience but also prove the entertainment validity of the performing arts. Bratya Basu is an iconic playwright, director and actor with a vault of his invaluable works spanning over 20 years. With Bratya Basu steering the show will influence a trend that will give rise to new perspective towards theatre performances.”

With HOMETHEATRE, we are bringing back that love and adulation through stunning stories and some stirring performances.”
