International Yoga day was a perfect combination of exercises and entertainment for kids in Mumbai. Kid’s favourite toon Motu Patlu joined celebrity fitness expert Mickey Mehta as he taught simple yoga poses to kids.
The event saw around 500 kids performing Yoga along with the toons in the fresh air on Marine Drive. Kids from 5 schools gathered to learn simple poses that they can practice daily. The kids were overexcited to see Motu Patlu and they interacted with them enthusiastically. Moreover, Motu Patlu encouraged the kids to practice Yoga. “I watch Motu Patlu every day and I had a lot of fun while doing Yoga with my favorite toons” said Riya, 3, a resident of Marine Lines.
“I hate waking up so early and I hate exercising but I had a lot of fun doing yoga with my friends and especially Motu Patlu” said Yuvraj Sharma, 7, a student of Poddar Jumbo Kids.
“Kids nowadays have so much of junk food, it is very essential that they participate in such fitness sessions. I couldn’t ever drag them so early, Motu Patlu made my job easy,” said Mrs. Bhardwaj, mother of two, from Cuffe Parade.
Mickey Mehta, celebrity fitness trainer, shared, “The present generation of kids are mostly occupied with electronic gadgets and digital devices. It is crucial to inculcate healthy habits such as physical fitness at an early age among kids. It is a great initiative taken by Nickelodeon to encourage kids with their toons Motu Patlu.”
The smiles on the faces of all these children were a true testament of happiness. The parents were extremely pleased with the event and thanked Motu Patlu for encouraging kids to take on yoga and asking them to remain fit. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the session along with their favorite toons and vouched to practice them year long. International yoga day was celebrated with a lot of fitness and a lot of fun!
