DLF Offices achieved LEED Platinum Certification from the US Green Building Council

Reality major DLF has been awarded ‘LEED Platinum Certification’ by US Green Building Council for its office projects in Gurgaon and Chennai. These projects are DLF iQ, DLF Epitome, DLF World Tech Park (Tower A) in Gurgaon and DLF Cybercity in Chennai. Of these projects, DLF Cybercity Chennai, DLF iQ and DLF World Tech Park are IT SEZs.

With this, DLF’s 12 office buildings that comprise 9 buildings in Chennai and 3 buildings in Gurgaon, have received LEED Platinum certification with a total area of 10.7 million sqft.

A rare feat, DLF Cybercity Chennai got the LEED Platinum certification on its first attempt. Further, DLF Epitome, DLF iQ and DLF World Tech Park have been upgraded from LEED Gold to LEED Platinum.

LEED Platinum is the highest level of certification awarded by US Green Building Council.

LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environment Design) is a green building certification programme that recognizes best-in-class building strategies and practices. LEED certification emphasizes measurable and sustainable green construction technologies, such as water and energy efficiencies, indoor air quality, materials used and innovations in building performance. Platinum certification is the highest LEED designation. There are four levels: certified, silver, gold and platinum.

Speaking on this achievement, Mr Sriram Khattar, MD of DLF’s Rental Business, said, “DLF Cybercity is a testament of our commitment towards creating healthier and more productive workplaces, firmly focused on continuous improvement on efficiency and impact on the environment. We shall continue to raise the bar of providing and maintaining a sustainable environment and would strive to conserve natural resources.

This certification has not only been awarded to our new projects but also to existing projects that have been maintained and operated by improving performance across metrics that matter the most: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emission reduction, improved indoor environmental quality and energy sustainability.”
