HONOR, the global technology brand, announced that it has received a phenomenal response of 4.1 billion views on the #UpForXtra hashtag, which was created for its recently launched smartphone – HONOR 9X in India. The hashtag #UpForXtra is in sync with the Xtraordinary features of HONOR 9X, and resonates perfectly with the Indian millennials as they strive to go extra, achieve extra and ask for extra, in whatever they are up for. Similarly, HONOR 9X with its Full View Display, beautiful design, powerful performance and advancement in photography aims to bring an eXtra satisfaction to the consumers.

As a part of the brand initiative, HONOR India challenged all TikTok users to show their Xtraordinary talent with the ‘HONOR 9X #UpForXtra rap’ (link) playing in the background. The participants had to perform the hook-step of the song created exclusively for the song and tag @HONOR_India and #UpForXtra in their posts. Among the participants, six lucky winners stand a chance to win the latest and HONOR’s first pop-up selfie camera with 16MP AI lens and 48MP AI tripe rear camera.  HONOR India received over 4,200 entries for this challenge and a phenomenal views of 4.1 billion on #UpForExtra hashtag.

Extending the Xtra fun to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter users, HONOR India also announced two more contests – ‘#UpForXtra’ Contest initiated by actors and influencers such as Jannat Zubair and Ahsaas Channa, and ‘X factor’ contest initiated by none other than the dancing diva and actor – Nora Fatehi, who also launched the HONOR 9X along with Charles Peng, President, HONOR India on 14th January, 2020.

Commenced by influencers Jannat Zubair and Ahsaas Channa, who created the videos showing their Xtra crazy side when it comes to asking for something extra, the challenge went viral and was taken up and amplified by multiple users on the platform. The influencers spoke about how, as consumers, they have the habit of asking for extra in everything, and similarly they should not compromise on expecting extra from their smartphones, just like the Xtraordinary features in HONOR 9X – extra special pop up camera, extra-large screen, extra powerful processor, extra space for your selfies and other pictures, extra-long lasting battery, etc.

HONOR India received an overwhelming response of over 1200 entries from users on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, who were asked to share their story of how far they had gone to get something extra on HONOR India’s social media handles and tag #UpForExtra and #HONOR9X. 3 participants with the most creative answers would be the lucky winners of HONOR’s latest HONOR 9X.  The video (link) by Jannat Zubair received over 1.6M views and the video (link) by Ahsaas Channa received over 188K views.

In the X factor contest, Nora Fatehi took a video from the launch event itself and asked her followers to share their X factor that makes them pop out from the crowd. Among the participants who shared their entries on the HONOR India social media handles on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, using the hashtag #UpForXtra 9 lucky winners will be rewarded with brand new HONOR 9X. Nora’s contest also received outstanding response of over 600 entries. Nora Fatehi’s video (link) also received overwhelming response of over 1.2M views.

The extraordinary success of HONOR India #UpForExtra hashtag in TikTok is a result of combined success of all the brand initiatives performed by HONOR India for the HONOR 9X smartphone. HONOR India is thankful to all the participants for showing such love for the brand.
