A cabinet minister, a ‘sea shepherd’ working towards safeguarding the ocean, the youngest speaker in Asia Pacific, a NASA scientist who found flowing water on Mars, a global musician, passionate artists, young innovators and scientists. This year on December 5, all these and more will come together to share their disruptive ideas at the sixth edition of TEDxGateway in Mumbai.
To amplify the TEDx platform and to showcase its eclectic line-up of speakers and their inspiring stories, Genesis BM collaborates with TEDxGateway as its official communication partner. This partnership marks Genesis BM’s third association with the TEDxGateway platform, having successfully amplified the main event held last year and the first ever TEDxGatewayWomen held earlier this year.
Celebrating TED’s mission, “Ideas Worth Spreading”, the TEDxGateway 2015 conference will focus on “Building Ideas For A Better World” by bringing together more than 25 brilliant and dynamic speakers from across India and the world.
This year’s TEDxGateway will host prominent luminaries such as Shri Suresh Prabhu, a cabinet minister; Raghu Raman, UN fellow and former CEO of NATGRID, Benedetta Berti, international policy analyst; Lujendra Ojha, a NASA scientist and astrogeek who discovered water on Mars among others. Apart from an outstanding array of speakers, TEDxGateway is also supporting Taxi Fabric—a concept that connects Indian designers with taxi drivers, turning seat covers into canvases—which will be displaying some of its colorful installations at the event.
On partnering with TEDxGateway 2015, Nikhil Dey, President, Genesis BM, said: “Today, TED has successfully established itself as a unique platform bringing to the fore, some of the most brilliant minds in the world and their inspiring ideas. It has been a privilege for Genesis BM to be associated with a platform like TEDxGateway and support their social movement.”
“Continuing the relationship with Genesis BM gives us a sense of confidence to build the right kind of communication for the sixth edition of TEDxGateway,” said Yashraj S. Akashi, Senior Ambassador, TEDx India Curator, TEDxGateway. “We believe Prema Sagar and Genesis BM not only bring the best media expertise to the table but also helps us define the essence of TEDx Gateway’s journey in India. We will continue to develop this relationship further.”
TEDxGateway is expected to draw more than 1000 attendees at NCPA, along with a special live streaming for 1000 students at Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). In addition, the main event will also be webcasted across 50 campuses in India, for over 150,000+ viewers.
