ABP News Shikhar Sammelan brought together dignitaries from the ruling and opposition party to deliberate on the expected outcome of General Elections 2019. The event was organized in the capital at Hyatt Regency and the discussion focused on the recently released manifesto by the BJP and Congress.

Renowned personalities and statesmen present at the event were Shri Shatrughan Sinha (Member of Parliament), Shri Rakesh Sinha (Member of Parliament – Rajya Sabha), Ami Yagnik (Congress spokesperson and senior Gujarat high court lawyer and women rights activist), Shri. Randeep Surjewala (Congress Spokesperson), Priyanka Chaturvedi (National spokesperson – Indian National Congress), Shri Gaurav Bhatia (National Spokesperson – BJP), Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi (Spokesperson – BJP), Ragini Naik (Spokesperson – Congress), Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan (Vice President – BJP), Shri. Piyush Goyal (Minister of Railways and Coal). Shikhar Sammelan was hosted by ABP News’s star anchors Sumit Awasthi, Rubika Liyaquat, Romana Khan and Anuraag Muskaan.

On the occasion, Mr. Avinash Pandey, CEO, ABP News Network said, “As we inch closer towards the General Elections, ABP News hosted an intriguing session of Shikhar Sammelan in the capital to gauge the sentiments of both the parties. Instilling ABP News Network’s philosophy of #deshkorakheyaagey we aim to keep our viewers informed who will play a key role in deciding the future of the country in the upcoming elections.”

Shikhar Sammelan is a unique platform that deliberates on the fundamentally pertinent issues which are of significance to the common man. It also provides an opportunity to both the ruling government and the opposition to debate on the challenges and the way forward for the country.

Key Highlights

  • Shatrughan Sinha (Member of Parliament) – BJP questions Mahagathbandhan of Opposition parties but the party is itself running on alliance with as many as 40 parties across the country. I did not leave BJP, but the party forced me to leave. The party did not even ask me before cutting my ticket from Patna Sahib seat. Instead of giving answers, BJP goes into the past.
  • Priyanka Chaturvedi (National spokesperson – Indian National Congress) – In India, the ruling party is likely to make a slew of promises to woo different sections of the society, especially farmers, youth and women, besides the downtrodden.
  • Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan (Vice President – BJP)- People of Madhya Pradesh (MP), Chhattisgarh & Rajasthan have now seen the true colours of Congress and will not vote for it again in Lok Sabha polls.
  • Piyush Goyal (Minister of Railways and Coal) – It is unfortunate for the politics of the country to have thinking like Farooq Abdulah for demanding separate Prime Minister for Jammu and Kashmir. There is love for India amongst every Kashmiri and there is no need for a different law in the valley.
