hoichoi’s much awaited docu-series, Tarader Shesh Tarpon is streaming now on Mahalaya. As an homage to the departed legends of our time, hoichoi has kept Tarader Shesh Tarpon free for the audience to watch.

Produced by Nandita Roy and Shiboprasad Mukherjee’s Windows Production, Tarader Shesh Tarpon marks the first collaboration between hoichoi and Windows.

In a unique offering of remembrance to 12 legends, namely Sushant Singh Rajput, Chuni Goswami, P.K. Banerjee, Rituparno Ghosh, Tapas Pal, Sunil Ganguly, Ajoy Basu, Gopal Bose, Supriya Devi, Krishanu Dey, Mahua Lahiri and Kalikaprasad Bhattacharya, the series creates a window for the Bengali audience to have a closer look at the lives of their beloved stars who continue to inspire and motivate even after their death. The premeditated release on Mahalaya, which is considered to be the most auspicious day in the Bengali calendar to pay tribute to the departed ones, has further helped in creating a factor of cultural relatability amongst the audience. Conceptualized & anchored by Gautam Bhattacharya and directed by Aritra Mukherjee of “Bramha Janen Gopon Kommoti” fame, it is a final work of respect which has been curated with utmost sensitivity after consulting exhaustive sources.

Apart from the unseen photos and videos of the lives of the legends, each episode has been brought to life and made vivacious by the personal anecdotes and stories shared by the distinguished personalities including Sourav Ganguly, Soumitra Chatterjee, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Jisshu U S Sengupta, Srijit Mukherji, Shatabdi Roy, Kaushik Ganguly, Saswata Chatterjee, Anindya Chatterjee, Subhash Bhowmick, Aparajita Addhya, Subrata Bhattacharya, Surajit Sengupta, Mimi Chakraborty, Sudipta Chakrabarty, Tnusree Chakraborty, Prasun Banerjee, Mir, Srinjoy Bose, Rachana Banerjee, Monoranjan Bhattacharya, Budhdhadeb Guha, Sudeshna Roy, Abhijit Guha, Tarun Majumder, Ranadeb Bose, Debang Gandhi, Saradindu Mukherjee, Joydeep Mukherjee, Kiran More, Arun Pandey and others.

Through a well-knit production of popular Tagore songs in the background by Srikanta Acharya, Jayati Chakraborty, Babul Supriyo, Rupankar Bagchi, Raghab Chatterjee, Aditi Gupta, Durnibar, Roopa Ganguly, Iman Chakraborty, music direction by Indraadip Dasgupta, and recitation by Bratati Bandopadhyay and Raya Bhattacharya, Tarader Shesh Tarpon seems to be an excellent example of a creative offering which is able to surpass the narratorial voice of the quasi-documentary to evoke emotions amongst the audience and take them on a journey of nostalgia.

Shiboprosad Mukherjee, Co-Founder of Windows Production said, “This one-of-a-kind project is to acknowledge the contributions of these legendary personalities. The show is packed with valuable remarks by eminent artists and I hope the audience will find it insightful apart from enjoying the aesthetic experience of Tarader Shesh Tarpon. With their commendable audience base and varied content, I find hoichoi to be the perfect platform to stream this project so that it is accessible to a large number of people.”

The Co-Founder of hoichoi, Vishnu Mohta said, “This is our first attempt at a docu-series and it will be streaming for free for all our audience to watch! Mahalaya is an auspicious occasion and Tarader Shesh Tarpon is the perfect fit as a content to stream on this day. I am glad to be a part of this beautiful work of art.”
