This extraordinary expedition aimed to pay tribute to the courage and sacrifices of our armed forces during the Kargil War, which took place 24 years ago.
Under the theme “First Breath to Last,” the Naga regiment of the Indian Army embarked on a poignant journey from Kohima, Nagaland to the site where numerous brave soldiers breathed their last during the conflict in 1999. A convoy of 24 riders, including veterans, officers, and soldiers, showcased commendable unity and camaraderie throughout the arduous expedition, which covered over 3,620 kilometers of challenging terrains, significant military establishments, and revered war memorials.
One of the most heartfelt elements of this initiative was the inclusion of sacred soil from the land of the Nagas, symbolizing the connection between the birthplace of the Naga soldiers and the place where they made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. This powerful gesture not only honored the fallen heroes but also served as a reminder of the deep respect Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles holds for our brave men and women in uniform.
The expedition culminated at the Kargil War Memorial in Dras, Kargil, where the Naga regiment riders handed over the sacred soil to Maj Gen Sachin Malik, GOC 8 Division. A poignant ceremony was held to honor and remember those who fought valiantly, with the riders paying their respects and laying wreaths as a symbol of gratitude and reverence for their fallen comrades.

Throughout their travel, they visited significant locations such as Dimapur, Guwahati, Siliguri, Danapur, Varanasi, Lucknow, Delhi NCR, Chandigarh, Dehradun, and Dras, receiving warm welcomes and felicitations at the Jawa Yezdi dealerships in Guwahati and Chandigarh.
