Maruti Suzuki India Limited launches ‘People Technology’ campaign

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has been spearheading revolutions since its inception and to celebrate innovations and technologies that delight its customers, it has launched a dedicated media campaign named ‘People Technology’. Maruti Suzuki through this campaign showcases technologies that have mobilised and empowered millions, over the years.

The seven path-breaking technologies, introduced by the Company on its wide portfolio of BS6 compliant cars are celebrated through this campaign- Smartplay infotainment system, Smart Hybrid, K-Series Engines, range of Automatic Transmissions, S-CNG, Suzuki Connect telematics solutions and HEARTECT platform. Maruti Suzuki intends to make a noticeable difference, through these technological interventions, that can enhance the lives of customers.

Mr. Kenichi Ayukawa, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “Behind every technology is a latent customer demand. We have tried to fulfil them in more than several ways. Maruti Suzuki’s approach for rolling out new technology for future is communicated by the phrase ‘CARE’ [C: Customer-Centric; A: Aspirational; R: Relevant and E: Experience].

The company focusses to offer to Indian customers- Comfortable, Safety, Connected Technologies and Environment friendly. Maruti Suzuki strives to provide the technology offering at competitive prices along with providing advanced technologies in its vehicles. The above-mentioned approach is depicted through people technology campaign in the seven recent path-breaking technologies.


With a range of Automatic Transmissions, Maruti Suzuki has sold more than 7.5 lakh vehicles. In 2014, with the launch of Auto Gear Shift (AGS) technology, the Company democratized the two-pedal technology and challenged several myths related to automatic cars. Available in six Maruti Suzuki models, the Company’s revolutionary two-pedal technology, AGS, offers driving convenience of an Automatic Transmission vehicle to Indian consumer at an affordable price without compromising on fuel economy. Including ATAGS and Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), Maruti Suzuki currently offers three different types of two-pedal transmissions on its 12 models. To meet the needs of the segments, each segment has some option.

To offer the next level of infotainment experience to the Indian consumers, the next generation Smartplay Studio Infotainment system has been introduced across the Maruti Suzuki product portfolio. Connecting smartphone, vehicle and cloud-based services, it is  a new-age 17.78 cm (7”) connected touch screen infotainment system to provide a host of features to offer delightful driving experience.


A next-generation global platform ‘HEARTECT Platform’ has been developed by the R&D team at Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan with a core focus on safety. The platform has a smooth continuous design built with advanced and high tensile steel, for better impact absorption in case of a collision. It offers better stability and control for enhanced driving performance and fuel efficiency, at the same time. Including cars developed for India, the platform is adopted in all future generation cars globally.

In view of the objective of offering safer cars to its consumers, the Company took initiatives to upgrade its entire range of vehicles to meet crash and pedestrian regulations much ahead of the defined timeframe.

Certain additional regulations were mandated by the Government of India such as seat belt reminder, seat belt reminder, Rear parking sensor, ABS and speed alert system from 2019 apart from crash and pedestrian norms. These regulations are applicable only to India. All these regulations are there in all the Maruti Suzuki models along with the technologies which are valued by consumers.


It is very important to stay connected in today’s world, as it provides a sense of safety, peace of mind and reassurance. Available in Maruti Suzuki cars, Maruti Suzuki offers – Suzuki Connect, a Telematics Control Unit (TCU) solution, to keep one always connected.

Advanced features are also provided such as vehicle and alerts, driving behaviour analysis, vehicle tracking, live vehicle statistics and emergency alert among others.


Maruti Suzuki unveiled its ‘Mission Green Million’ in 2020 with the vision to democratize green mobility for its customers. The company aims to sell the next million green vehicles at a much faster pace and reduce carbon footprint. It has already sold one million green vehicles.

The Company has taken various initiatives, in view of this objective such as the addition of S-CNG technology, upgrading current K- Series engines and the introduction of Smart Hybrid technology in more models. The Company has achieved nearly 20% weighted CO2 reduction across the fleet in the past 15 years with the above initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.

Through innovative design techniques, Maruti Suzuki’s K-Series engine realizes the true spirit of the global design trend of optimizing engine performance. Across the product line-up, it is currently offered in four different options- K15B, K10B, K12M and Next-gen Dual VVT Dual Injector K12N Engine.

The Company has improved nearly 30% Fuel efficiency in the last decade, with continuous upgradation of the K-Series engine to delight value-conscious Indian consumers.
