Tata Motors increases price of passenger vehicles averaging 1.8%


India’s leading vehicle producer and manufacture, Tata Motors, have announced the increase of the price of passenger vehicle segment with effect from May 8, 2021. The average surge of price is around 1.8% across all models and variants. Though the price hike will pinch the pockets of future customers, Tata Motors has kept the commitment towards their customers, by protecting the customers from the price surge who have booked their vehicle before May 7, 2021. This follows the recent announcement of the ‘Business Agility Plan’ been set into motion serving and protecting customers, dealers and suppliers’ interests.

According to Mr. Shailesh Chandra, President – Passenger Vehicles Business, “Increase in prices of commodities, such as steel and precious metals, necessitates us to pass on a part of it through an increase in the price of our products. Keeping in mind the interest of customers who have booked cars already, we are offering price protection for all bookings done to date (on or before 7th May 2021). This price increase will be effective for bookings made thereafter (effective 8 May 2021). Our ‘New Forever’ product range continues to witness strong acceptance in the market and we are thankful to our customers for their continued trust in the brand.”
