CNN-IBN India’s most awarded news channel, added two more prestigious awards to its tally at the recently concluded Goafest 2016.The channel’s unique initiatives – #RebuildingChennai and VEER Season 2, and the dedicated programming under them won the Bronze ABBY for the ‘Best TV Program for Cause Related Marketing’ category.
#RebuildingChennai, in association with Seeds India & Bitgiving, helped in raising over INR 45 lakh for the flood relief in the region. In a one-of-its-kind tribute to the people of Chennai, CNN-IBN created a soul-stirring anthem featuring prominent singers and brought together eminent personalities and superstars on a common platform to support the campaign.
With an objective to sensitize the nation about the true potential of People with Disabilities (PWDs), CNN-IBN in partnership with Thums Up, Being Human and American India Foundation launched VEER Season 2. With an extensive on-air programming across channels – CNN-IBN, IBN7 & IBN Lokmat, the network aimed to raise awareness through inspirational stories of ordinary people with disabilities living a normal life. The campaign was amplified using diverse mediums like television, digital, radio, on-ground activities, etc. The Indian government’s Department of Social Justice and Empowerment and Hans Foundation also supported this campaign.
