IBD wins the prestigious Thomas Edison Advertisement Award for KC+ Milk TVC


IBD India, a Percept – Hakuhodo Company, won the prestigious Thomas Edison Advertisement (TEA) Award for the KC Milk Television Commercial in the popular milk advertisement category at the 3rd Annual TEA Awards 2017 held at the Sir Mutha Venkata Subba Rao Concert Hall in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on 12 August 2017.

The grand event saw KC Milk, one of leading dairy brands in Tamil Nadu, bag the TEA Award in the ‘Best Milk Product Ad’ category at the Thomas Edison Advertisement Awards, a prominent award ceremony presented by Pink Ads. It was a glorious moment of team spirit, harmony and unity as Celebrity Ms. Amala Paul, Director Manikandan, Production House Rabid Films, and the Client KC Milk received the award as a team collectively on stage.

KC Milk is the flagship pasteurized milk brand of KC Diary Products Limited and has a rich history that goes back 25 years when it was founded in the Dindugal District of Tamil Nadu. Since then, it has become a key player in the dairy market of Tamil Nadu and today has more than 10 Branch offices across various districts of the State. Earlier this year IBD had won the mandate to revitalize the brand image of KC Milk. IBD’s in-depth knowledge and understanding of the category ensured that the agency created a TVC that offered fresh insights into this popular consumer category that translated into the desired impetus for both the client and consumers alike.

The Thomas Edison Advertisement Award win is especially noteworthy as the votes are collected via a public poll spanning Digital, Mobile and Social Media platforms, with over 70% voting occurring in the popular Milk TVC category in Tamil Nadu. Other nominees in this category in 2017 included Arokya Milk, Cavins Milk, and Aavin Co-operative Milk.

On the award Mr. Suresh Kumar, Managing Director, KC Dairy said, “The success of the communication lies in its strong reason to believe and the connect with the right target group.  It has also retained a sense of simplicity and rightly endorsed by a brand ambassador who could add to the credibility of the brand promise.”

The glittering ceremony was attended by many celebrities from various walks of life including actors Jayam Ravi, Madhavan, Jeyam Ravi, Vijay Sethupathy, Kalidas Jayaram, Srushti, Asna Zaveri and Divya Darshini.

The TEA awards were established by Pink Ads in 2015 with an aim to embolden, hearten and compliment the dedication, hard work and expertise of ad film makers and agencies that go into creating and producing innovative and compelling ad films that hold the audience’s attention and translate into phenomenal consumer action and product conversion. The awards are encapsulated and titled after Thomas J Barrett.
