&Privé HD celebrates one year of bringing remarkable tales
ZEEL’s (Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited) premium English movie destination, &Privé HD, successfully completes one year of bringing nuanced cinema to its discerning audience. Staying true to its proposition of “Feel the Other side”, &Privé HD is a place for those who aren’t happy with just movie viewing but love to dive deeper into their souls. These are connoisseurs who go beyond the obvious and feel the other side. The channel was specially designed to deliver a luxury signature visual experience for those who venture into the depths of cinema and its unique on-air Branding and Packaging also won GOLD at the PROMAX BDA India awards within just six months of its entry.
Since its inception, &Privé HD has curated 350 movies with 52 premieres including critically acclaimed and award-winning titles like Moonlight, Lion, The Post, The Imitation Game, A Beautiful Mind, The Wolf of Wall street, Catch Me If You Can, Memoirs of a Geisha, Donnie Darko, Revolutionary Road amongst others.
The channel brought a day-long celebration ‘Privé Extraordinaire’ of some of the best titles all day long on 23rd September. The line-up, which included Suburbicon, Moonlight, Jackie, Pelé, A Dog’s Purpose and The Post, had been specially curated to showcase the infinite sides of some truly compelling tales.
In addition to the offerings on-air, the channel also brings alive the experience of enjoying nuanced cinema on-ground with &Privé Soirée. This initiative brings award winning movies to viewers in an exclusive setting, with the aim of bringing like-minded cinephiles together. The format also includes noted filmmakers and actors discussing each movie before the screening and highlighting the various themes explored in each story. As the start of this on-ground initiative, &Privé HD would be hosting the Academy Award Winner ‘Call me by your name’, at Matterden on the 26th of September in Mumbai. The movie, that takes the audience through a sweet summer romance between two individuals of the same sex, aims to resonate positively with the Indian audience with the recent ruling in favour of LGBT rights. It would be introduced by acclaimed Indian director, editor and producer Onir and actor and director Nandita Das.
Commenting on the occasion, Prathyusha Agarwal, Chief Marketing Officer, ZEEL, said, “It is truly exciting for all of us at ZEEL to witness the spectacular growth of &Privé HD in the last one year. We have witnessed an overwhelming response to films that truly reflect the other side of cinema. It is an encouraging proof of the evolving interests and preferences which assures us of our understanding of the nonconformist viewer and reflects in their loyalty towards the channel. In the time to come it is our endeavour to continue raising the bar of providing a truly differentiated movie viewing experience.”
Speaking on the anniversary, Shaurya Mehta, Business Head, Zee English Cluster said, “It is a proud moment for &Privé HD to be celebrating 365 days of providing pure cinematic experiences for the non-conformist audience. Our constant endeavour has been to provide our viewers with an unparalleled movie viewing extravaganza for all our premieres and properties.”
