BookASmile celebrated the contribution of COVID Heroes during YESS

BookMyShow’s charity initiative named BookASmile, welcomed the new year with its annual event Year-End Success Stories ( YESS ). This is the second edition of the initiative that celebrated and recognized the immense contribution of the COVID heroes such as the healthcare workers, police, sanitization staff, pharma shop owners, grocery shop owners, and other emergency service providers.

The event was hosted by the inspirational speaker and leadership coach Jeroninio Almeida. The annual event, YESS was dedicated to the Magnificent 7. The Magnificent 7 includes all the people who have worked tirelessly beyond their call of duty without letting their personal challenges affect them. These people are artists who support other artists, the lead clown of a famous circus of Mumbai who is working to make sure that his community survives, etc. The annual event featured many such stories from different pockets of the country. The soulful and humanitarian journeys during the pandemic were narrated by the Heroes themselves. All of these personalities were then honored by popular artists like Anahita Uberoi, ex-Naval officer and clown-magician Pravin Tulpule, country music artiste Bobby Cash, five-time national squash champion Ritwik Bhattacharya, Hindustani classical violinist & vocalist Sunita Bhuyan, poet & leading voice-over artist Nasir Khan, award-winning singer and composer Sonam Kalra, and Palate Culinary Studio & Academy founder Rakhee Vaswani. The event was then concluded by an interactive Q&A session.

Commenting on the event, Farzana Cama Balpande, Head – BookASmile said, “When we launched YESS in 2019, our aim was to create a platform that recognizes path-breaking, inspiring stories of people who have defeated hardships to achieve their dreams. This year, with the pandemic disrupting every walk of life, we saw the emergence of many real-life heroes who stepped up to make a significant difference in and around their community. YESS 2020 in celebration of the goodness in people, with the hope that many others will get inspired and make this world a better place to live in.”
