GoDaddy introduces Website Security line-up this World Password Day

Share

The access of personal information and unauthorized access to the system can be prevented by passwords which are the first line of security. Your system is more protected from hackers and malicious software, as strong you set the password. But just updating and having a strong password does not ensure complete security of a business website; t requires a comprehensive suite of online security solutions. Also, small businesses can lose not only money but lose valuable data as well as time and reputation, if a proper website security plan is not prepared.

The United Nations Global Compact Network (UNGCNI), Autobot Infosec and The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), startups and small and medium businesses (SMEs), as per a recent ebook launched by CyberPeace Foundation (CPF), remain the most vulnerable segment in India when it comes to cyber-attacks.

These threats may seem like a daunting challenge to protect small ventures from. Most business owners just want to protect their website and site visitors and don’t want to become cybersecurity experts. GoDaddy has addressed this by introducing a new, simplified Website Security line-up, on this occasion of World Password Day, that provides comprehensive security to help protect small business websites.

Business owners have two primary concerns when it comes to protecting their website: protecting sensitive customer and business data, and preventing malware and viruses from attacking their website. GoDaddy Website Security addresses both these needs. An SSL Certificate is included in each of the three Website Security plans that comes with Web Application Firewall (WAF) protection. During transmission from the website to the server, the SSL Certificate ensures that sensitive customer data is encrypted.  And the firewall protects the site from malware and DDoS attacks warding off damage to your website.

All GoDaddy Website Security plans include site cleanup to remove malware. Higher-level plans also include site backup capability (up to 200 GB) and expedited site cleanup for quick recovery. Best of all, these security features can be used by small businesses and independent entrepreneurs whether their site is hosted by GoDaddy or not. In addition, the GoDaddy Websites + Marketing suite of integrated online tools for creating a digital presence already includes an SSL Certificate for the website.

GoDaddy’s firewall service blocks more than 1.8 billion requests per month globally; offers a content delivery network that’s proven to make sites up to 76 per cent faster, and has a 95 per cent customer satisfaction rating on security support requests.
