News18, India’s No. 1 News Network, once again brought back its unique celebration of the Hindi Diwas – Hindi ke Samrat – that is celebrated on the 14th of September every year. The third edition of this award-winning contest received an overwhelming response this year, generating a reach of over 22 million. This initiative stands testimony to News18’s commitment to not only celebrating the cultural heritage of its viewers but also deeply integrating itself as a brand into the socio-cultural fabric of its audience.
The ‘Hindi Ke Samrat’ contest, much like News18’s other successful initiatives, aims to engage, entertain, and educate its viewers while embracing the essence of Hindi Diwas. Participants from across different regions and states enthusiastically showcased their love for the Hindi language by completing Hindi proverbs through multiple touchpoints. News18 invited viewers to showcase their linguistic prowess by giving a missed call on a dedicated mobile number or filling out a form online – wherein they were given an opportunity to complete Hindi proverbs. The contest was promoted extensively on the Network’s Hindi language channels, social handles, & digital assets and through mobile promotions including via WhatsApp and OBDs. The contest generated tremendous interest on various platforms reaching a campaign engagement of close to 200,000.
