The Nestery, a vertical marketplace for Indian parents has acquired Toy Academy for an undisclosed amount.

Founded in 2019 by Vaishnavi Rangarajan, Aparna Vasudevan and T S Viswanathan, The Nestery is a vertical marketplace focused on helping modern Indian parents discover and buy the right products just when they need them. The Nestery has continually differentiated itself by adding context to commerce. In December 2021, The Nestery closed a $500 K funding round led by Rebalance Angels Community, FirstCheque and others.

Founded by Stuti Agrawal and Prashant Adurty in early 2021, Toy Academy is a recommendation engine that helps parents identify and choose the right toys and games for their children based on their interests, skills, and specific learning outcomes. They have created proprietary IP rooted in pedagogy and extensive primary research with thousands of parents.

The acquisition of Toy Academy’s IP will further bolster The Nestery’s continued focus on building an empathetic shopping experience for each parent on their platform.

Excited about the acquisition, Vaishnavi Rangarajan, Co-Founder & Director, The Nestery shared“Acquiring Toy Academy has helped us catalyze the process of how we help parents get from what they are facing to what they need without having to put in hours of research and effort. We will use their IP to increase the accuracy and improve the learning of our empathetic catalogs.”

Prashant Adurty, Co-Founder of Toy Academy said, “We are delighted to become part of The Nestery family. The future is all about context led to commerce and we are excited that Toy Academy’s recommendation engine will play a part in the next leg of exponential growth at the Nestery”
