To bring about the reform and respect in the welding category and fill up the requirement of welders across sectors in the country, Ador Welding Academy, has signed an agreement with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), to train over 14,000 people in the country. The Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ador Welding Limited.

The promoters have proposed to invest a significant amount in the company over a period of 3 years. The Academy has already trained over 1100 welders in India so far since it was set up in 2012 and will provide training in welding techniques and procedures.

Commenting on the partnership, Jayant Krishna, CEO, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) said, “Today a number of project contractors have imported welding and cutting operators from China, Russia & East European Countries. Our country is in a crucial need of an overhaul in the current practices and must embrace and adopt new technologies to ensure our country’s growth plan targets. This is an important partnership which will extend great opportunities to the youth in the welding sector and make them realise that it is an important job that needs a lot of technical knowledge and precision”.

“We are glad to see companies like Ador Welding are coming forward and contributing towards the collective growth of skills landscape. We need more and more private companies to extend their infrastructure and training support for skill development in the country without any financial support. Ador Welding Limited experience and expertise in the sector will bring widespread support to our skills program,” Krishna further added.

Commenting on the partnership, Raman Kumar, Chairman, Ador Welding Academy said, “We have been providing services in welding for more than 60 years now. We are happy to collaborate with NSDC to skill the youth in the art of welding, on industry-oriented competency and assessment standards, complementary training modules in welding thus contributing to the overall skills agenda. Our aim is to provide employment-linked finishing courses for various levels in the welding domains like Welders, Supervisors, Engineers and Inspectors. We will collaborate with corporates to provide welding talent for their production needs.”

“Our close involvement with the industry shop floors, inspection and approving agencies and design consultants have helped us acquire and accumulate valuable insights into the needs and aspirations of the industry,” Kumar further added.

Ador Academy will also be responsible for taking up Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) projects and develop welding training centres for training providers on turn-key basis. It provides services right from the layout preparation, assistance in getting clearances, supply and installation of equipment, providing curriculum, content and training of trainers. It also carries out assessment for trainees of training partners.

The academy plans to set up two more ‘model centres’ and show case those as model centres to encourage and support training providers to set up welding training institute and roll out training program.
