NSDC and CSULB to address the digitally skilled workforce

National Skill Development Corporation and California State University, Long Beach ( CSULB ) partners with each other to address the increasing need for the digitally skilled workforce in the country. The initiative is led by National Skill Development Corporation’s digital skilling unit- eSkillIndia. For the initiative, CSULB will be presenting a catalog of over 200 free courses for skill seekers. There will be an integration of NSDC’s eSkillindia.org with California State University, Long Beach’s digital skilling unit Skills Commons and MERLOT, under the partnership. The integration will be aimed at driving e-learning in the youths of the country.

California State University, Long Beach’s Skills Commons and MERLOT, and eSkillIndia will add courses from various sectors such as employability, healthcare, information technology, management, finance skills, etc. There will also be several courses that will be aimed at upskilling the trainers. The courses will be in the range of 2 hours to 30 hours, and a total of 900 hours.

Commenting on the initiative, Dr. Manish Kumar, MD & CEO, NSDC, said, “Online learning is paving the way for digital transformation.  NSDC is facilitating the acquisition of online skills, which can help realize the immense potential of youth to leverage existing as well as emerging opportunities.”

eSkillIndia’s portal catalogs more than 4000 courses and 825 digital courses from its partners in multiple languages through affiliate channels in different sectors.

California State University Long Beach has been ranked in the top 1% of all the public universities in the USA.
