Adventure, subterfuge and the ultimate prison break

MediaInfoline April 5, 2017

What do you do when the tables turn? When the savior is the one who needs saving? Television’s most jaw-dropping, adrenaline-pumping series ‘Prison Break’is back with a brand new season after a hiatus of eight years. This time, it is Lincoln Burrows who will break out his brother Michael Scofield, who was presumed dead, from a high security prison in Yemen. But the challenge doesn’t end there! The new season ups the ante with not only a prison break but with the brothers having to escape from Yemen itself to return safely back to the U.S. Prison Break season 5 premieres on 8th April and will air every Saturday at 9pm only on Star World and Star World HD.

The drama’s new season picks up after Michael sacrificed himself to save his new bride – Sarah.Although Sara has moved on with her life, raising her and Michael’s child, when clues surface that suggest Michael may be alive, Sara teams with Lincoln to engineer the series’ biggest escape ever from a high security prison in Yemen. Speaking about what fans can expect in the new season, Wentworth Miller, who plays Michael Scofield, said, “I think what fans can look forward to is more of the same, more of what they loved the first time.Themes of family, brotherhood, loyalty, sacrifice, but with some interesting new twists and turns that feel very, very present-day.”

Disclosing details about the relationship between Michael and Sarah, screenwriter Paul Scheuring said, “We’re bringing back the original characters including Sarah. We’re going to have action and adventure and twists and all that, but at the core of it is a story of relationships. Michael and Sarah’s relationship was nipped in the bud at the end of the Season 4. It was unrealized, especially because his child was born, so there’s a lot of unfinished business in that relationship. In a lot of ways, that’s the core runner through this series — that motivation to make that relationship right. Of course, we blow a bunch of stuff up along the way.”

Launched in 2005, the original action drama Prison Break centered on a young man – Michael Scofield determined to prove his convicted brother’s (Lincoln Burrows) innocence and save him from death row by hatching an elaborate plan to escape from prison. A breakout success, the show garnered Golden Globe Award nominations for Best Television Series – Drama, Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Drama as well as winning the People’s Choice Award for Favorite New TV Drama Series.

Catch the action-packed adventure of two brothers who will go to the ends of the world to save each other in Prison Breakseason 5 beginning 8th April, every Saturday at 9pm only on Star World and Star World HD.
