Disney channel’s latest show ‘Imagine That’ aims upcycling as a theme
While the COVID-19 is making its grip stronger and forcing us to stay inside, Disney channel is all set to bring its brand new show ‘Imagine That’. The DIY property aims to inspire kids as well as families. The show will see Rob, the fantastic DIY creator, as its host.
The theme of Imgine That revolves around upcycling things. The show is geared to give creativity a purpose with upcycling, which is about giving a creative edge to waste products.
As talking about this, Anuradha Agarwal, Head- Infotainment and Kids, Star & Disney India said, “Kids are curious and creative by nature. This show is a platform to nurture their creativity. The show wants to encourage kids and families to imagine, create, and explore and have fun with DIY.”
While speaking about the set of the show, Anuradha emphasized the set, environment, and design of the show is very artsy, catchy and attractive. Innovative objects like Trashinator (a Robot look-alike that pops out the trash which is then upcycled by Rob) and Pinger (a hand gadget that pops out messages from kids who want Rob to help them out) have been made an integral part of the segments within the show.
Speaking about viewership, Anuradha mentioned that the Kids genre has gone up to 25% whereas the overall has seen a surge of over 40%. Though last few months have seen around 100 hours of content on the channel. She also outlined that there are a number of new shows lined up along with a hint of the second season for the show.
Imagine That launches on 6th September 2020. Watch it every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. on Disney Channel.
