India’s homegrown OTT platform, ZEE5 turns 3 this year
India’s homegrown OTT platform, ZEE5 completes its three years in the industry. The last 12 months have been glorious for the OTT platform with 65.9 mn global monthly active users (MAUs), 5.4 mn global Daily Active Users (DAUs) till December 2020. There have been 133 minutes of average watch time per user every month. ZEE5 is offering its annual subscription at 499 INR after 50% off on the pack, from February 13 to 28.

This year, we are set to premiere some of our best original content as well as brand new seasons of our franchises. In addition to this, 2021 will also see some of the most talked-about digital spin-offs of iconic ZEE TV shows. An initiative to bring them back in a new digital avatar, a move that fans have already appreciated and loved in abundance. As the country’s homegrown digital video streaming service, it is our responsibility to bring fresh, purposeful content to the fore. We have had a fantastic run so far and we will continue to invest in good content and enhance our overall product experience.”
Last year ZEE5 came up with high quotient originals like Taish, Chintu Ka Birthday, State of Siege: 26/11, Churails, Abhay 2, etc. This year it aired some of the best originals to date such as Atkan Chatkan, Kaagaz, Nail Polish, Darbaan, Mee Raqsam, Pareeksha, etc.
ZEE5 originals are known for their crime thriller contents and such big franchises Abhay and Rangbaaz are all set to return with their next seasons. The Final Call (based on a book by author Priya Kumar) is also set to come with its second season.
There are a few web series that are coming soon, such as Sunflower, Silence…can you hear it?, Qubool Hai 2.0, and Jamai 2.0.
Sunflower is a situational crime comedy with Sunil Grover on the lead. Silence…can you hear it? is an investigative murder mystery which is starting on March 26. Qubool Hai 2.0 starring Karan Singh Grover and Surbhi Jyoti will start streaming from March 12. Jamai 2.0 premiering on February 26 with Nia Sharma and Ravi Dubey on the leads.
