IndiGo salutes the spirit of Neerja by hosting the film screening
Honoring the spirit of flight attendant Neerja Bhanot’s awe-inspiring heroism, IndiGo in partnership with Fox Studio & Bling will screen Sonam Kapoor-starrer Neerja in Mumbai. Neerja releases on 19 February and is based on the life of flight attendant Neerja Bhanot who lost her life while saving passengers on a Pam Am flight hijacked in Karachi in 1986. The film features Sonam Kapoor and Shabana Azmi in lead roles and is directed by Ram Madhvani.
Standing in solidarity with the members of the airline industry who work tirelessly to make air travel safe and comfortable – IndiGo crew will go all out wearing badges with the hashtag #IamNeerja on all flights for a week of 19 Feb.

As India’s youngest carrier – it’s indeed our honor to pay tribute to Neerja Bhanot who became India’s youngest recipient of country’s highest peacetime military award (Ashok Charkra) for bravery. Neerja is and will continue to be an inspiration for us. IndiGo crew’s participation is an extension to company’s programmed Girl Power – with which the airline is synonymous”.
Remembering the hero of skies, Neerja Bhanot– IndiGo encourages its passengers, travel partners and members of the aviation fraternity to express their acknowledgment and gratitude via social media contests. The airline will be running contests around women who inspires you and why using #6EGirlPower across social media channels – Facebook and Twitter handle @IndiGo6E.
IndiGo will fly the five best respondents to Mumbai for a special screening of the movie.
