Kolkata’s heritage cinema Metro INOX is now open
Indian cinema chain, INOX Leisure Ltd. launched Metro INOX at Jawahar Lal Nehru Road, Chowringhee, Kolkata. The cinema was built in the year 1935 by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) and it has been revived and designed by Scottish architect Thomas Lamb. The hugely popular structure has been redeveloped by Metro Realty Group with Subir Kumar Basu, the renowned heritage architect. The multiplex will be housing 2 screens with 422 seats and has been equipped with the best sound and projection technologies.
The multiplex will be the perfect mix of legacy and luxury, keeping up with the rich legacy and history of Metro with the people of Kolkata. The multiplex has also been equipped with a touch-screen enabled interactive food-ordering and paperless ticketing and check-ins.
