Master storyteller Neelesh Misra embarks on a journey exploring everyday narratives
When it comes to storytelling, there are only a few who can match the gravitas that Neelesh Misra brings into the fray. Having wowed audiences with his audio shows on Saavn, Qisson ka Kona and Time Machine, the master storyteller began a soulful journey that aims to explore the various subtle themes and stories interwoven in everyday lives. Neelesh was in the city today, in association with Saavn interacting with college students at Hindu College’s annual fest, ‘Mecca’, discussing art, relationships, tales, narratives, and his own experiences with the youth.
Speaking on his latest endeavour, Neelesh Misra said, “We often don’t realise it, but we are living out intriguing stories and complex themes as a part of our everyday lives. This is something I explore through my two Saavn audio-shows, Qisson ka Kona and Time Machine. Seeing that the youth today are enthusiastic about the art of storytelling, I thought it would be good to reach out to young students on college campuses to spark engaging conversations about stories that surround us.”
Having started his career as a journalist, Neelesh covered rural India and South Asian politics for over a decade. He co-founded Gaon Connection, India’s first rural newspaper, and has also penned the lyrics for Bollywood films such as Jism, Bodyguard and Barfi among others. Since 2016, he has also been hosting two popular Saavn Originals, Qisson ka Kona with Neelesh Mishra and Time Machine with Neelesh Mishra.
After New Delhi, Neelesh will continue on his journey, visiting cities including Lucknow and Indore, among others.
