Adam Fogelson, chairman, STXfilms Motion Picture Group, announced today that STXfilms has acquired worldwide rights to the film adaptation of the novel Every Note Played. The Oscar winners, Christoph Waltz and Angelina Jolie are in talks with the studio and attached to star in the film. Jolie is also an Academy Award and three-time Golden Globe Winner, whereas Waltz is an Oscar award winner Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained.
‘Every Note played’ is based on the most recent book by the bestselling author of the New York Times, Lisa Genova, also an author of Still Alice. The movie adaptation of Still Alice has also bagged many awards including an Oscar, Golden Globe, SAG, and BAFTA Best Actress awards to Julianne Moore. The novel became the course of action by Monet Clayton and David Mandell, who developed the story and adapted it into a music-driven screenplay that ranked number top on the Black List.
The story of ‘Every Note Played’ revolves around a pianist and composer who is on the verge of creating his own masterpiece. He got messed up when learns about his life-changing diagnosis, his ex-wife decided to take of him no matter what and he is trapped in a situation to balance reconciling his failed relationships with redefining his pursuit of greatness.
The Golden Globe-winning director Michael Sucsy is set to direct the film. Sucsy is a well-known name for movies like “Grey Gardens,” The Vow, “13 Reasons Why”. Whereas on the production front, Monet Clayton, Richard Barton Lewis, and Gabrielle Jerou are set to step there along with Richard Barton Lewis’s Oscar-nominated and Emmy Award-winning Southpaw Entertainment banner. The banner is a highly referred name for August Rush, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Backdraft.
