The lead cast and crew of Gumnaami, SVF & Director Srijit Mukherji’s Pujo release, came together for the first time to celebrate the spirit of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at Simla Bayam Samity, the Durga Puja helmed and nurtured by none other than the great leader himself.
Gumnaami,based on the Mukherjee Commission Hearings, is a magnum opus that takes us through the various theories on the death and disappearance of one of the greatest freedom fighters of British India – Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
The cast comprising of Nationally acclaimed & Tollywood’s numero uno Prosenjit Chatterjee, renowned actors Anirban Bhattacharya, Tnusree Chakraborty, singer Ishaan Mitra and the Captain of the ship Srijit Mukherji were present along with others to interact with the public & media. This was the first time the teaser and trailer of Gumnaami has been showcased to the common audience on a public forum, who seemed to reminisce the spirit of their hero and reverberate the patriotism of the Azad Hind Fauj.
Talking about his upcoming Pujo release National Award-Winning director Srijit Mukherji said, “Inspite of numerous challenges, legal hassles and altercations, our film Gumnaami is releasing this Pujo and I thank my audience for the love and support they have bestowed upon our film. I have received several phone calls, emails, messages and tweets with positive words of encouragement, and I look forward to the release this 2nd October”.
Gumnaami, produced by SVF and starring Prosenjit Chatterjee, Anirban Bhattacharya, Tnusree Chakraborty and others is scheduled to release on 2nd October 2019 in both Bengali & Hindi. The music used in the film is the original soundtrack by INA & D.L. Roy and has been rearranged by National Award Winning music director Indraadip Dasgupta.
