The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) has elected its new President and Vice President for the year 2023-24
The statutory body has announced CMA Ashwin G. Dalwadi as its new President and CMA Bibhuti Bhushan Nayak as the new Vice President. The Institute conducted the election of President and Vice-President of the Institute on July 22, 2023, in New Delhi. CMA Ashwin G. Dalwadi is a Fellow Member of ICMAI. He has been a leading practicing Cost Accountant since 1989 and has a brilliant academic background and rich experience in the field of Cost Accountancy and General Management. Presently, he is a senior partner of M/s. Dalwadi & Associates, Cost Accountants, Ahmedabad. He has been the Member of the Council of the Institute for the term 2007-2011 and elected consecutively for two terms 2019-2023 and 2023-27.
He has been Chairman and Member of various Committees and Boards of the Institute.CMA Bibhuti Bhushan Nayak is a Fellow Member of The Institute of Cost Accountants of India and associated with the profession for more than 25 years. He retired as DGM (Finance) from Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL)/GRIDCO. Presently, he is a practicing Cost Accountant. He is elected member of the Council of the Institute for the term 2023-27.
ICMAI is a statutory body set up under an Act of Parliament under the administrative control of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Govt. of India. The Institute is headquartered in Kolkata having four Regional Councils at Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai, 114 Chapters in India, and 11 Overseas centers. The Institute is the largest Cost & Management Accounting body in the world, having approximately 5,00,000 students and 90,000 qualified CMAs either in practice or in employment all over the globe.
The Institute is a founding member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), the Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (CAPA), and the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA).
Pertinent to mention here that the institute had recently organized ‘Global Summit 2023’ Global Summit 2023 (GS-2023), a knowledge-sharing forum at Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi on July 14 and 15 on the theme “Unlocking Sustainability: G20 Presidency Paves the Way for an ESG-driven New World Order”. The event was graced by Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister for Law and Justice, as the Chief Guest and Dr. Subhas Sarkar, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Education as the Guest of Honor.
