Rajesh Iyer is appointed by Viacom18 to lead four of its regional channels

Viacom18 appoints Rajesh Iyer to lead four of its regional channels namely Colors Gujarati, Colors Bangla, Colors Odia and Colors Tamil. Ravish Kumar will continue to lead the other two regional channels of the network, Colors Kannada and Colors Marathi. Both Ravish and Rajesh will work closely with each other to grow the regional channels of Viacom18.

Speaking about the appointment, Rahul Joshi, MD, Network18 said: “Regional broadcast entertainment is a key pillar in our endeavour to chart out a high-growth path for Viacom18. India is witnessing an unprecedented boom in the segment and agility is the need of the hour to get to leadership positions in our existing regional markets. With his years of leadership experience across TV and digital ecosystems, Rajesh is ably poised to take on the challenges presented by the genre and successfully grow the business.”

Rajesh Iyer has joined Network18 in March 2019 and has spearheaded new initiatives by closely working with the leadership team. And, before coming to Network18 he has worked as a part of broadcast leadership team in Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited. Rajesh was one the forming members of ZEEL’s second general entertainment channel ‘&TV’ in the year 2015. He has worked with Viacom18 for six long years where he led the marketing portfolio of the GEC Colors. He also had worked with YuppTV, Star and Ambience Publicis/Ogilvy & Mather. Iyer is an alumni of Symbiosis International University.

Viacom18 Media Pvt. Ltd. is one of the most fastest growing and iconic entertainment networks that offers multicultural, multi platform and multi-generational brand experiences. It is a joint venture between TV18 owning 51% stake and ViacomCBS owning 49% of the stake. In January 2010, the network launched Aapka Colors in the United States of America, taking the brand international. The network has recently launched its digital arm – VOOT by Viacom18 having over 45,000 hours of fascinating contents for the audiences with varied preferences and choices, that covers blockbuster movies, biggest TV shows, favorite cartoon shows along with Voot Originals.
