Nat Geo’s exclusive show on Border Security Force

“Nations and armies worldwide prepare only for battles, the Border Security Force fights each day.” This Republic Day, National Geographic Channel (Nat Geo) celebrates the heroes who protect our borders with an exclusive documentary, BSF: India’s First Line of Defence’.  This awe- inspiring documentary will showcase the history, ethos, men and machines of the extraordinary Border Security Force.

Continuing the legacy of bringing to viewers, breakthrough content that is topical, Nat Geo will premiere this exclusive documentary on the eve of India’s 67th Republic Day with a repeat on Republic Day.

This unique documentary will be a visual delight for the viewers, as it captures spectacular scenes across the different terrains the BSF is stationed in. From the unforgiving snow peaked mountains of Kashmir to the breathtaking deserts of Rajasthan, from the creek areas of Gujarat to the imposing mangroves of Sunderbans, the documentary showcases BSF in action in the varied topography that the force works in.

‘BSF: India’s First Line of Defence’premieres on January 25, 2016 at 9 PM and repeats on January 26 at 8 PMon National Geographic Channel.

BSF is the primary border police force of India and was raised in the wake of the 1965 Indo-Pak war on 1 December 1965, for ensuring the security of the borders of India. On Republic Day eve Nat Geo’s exclusive documentary will get viewers a little closer to the force that has made extreme sacrifices to protect the country.

This is National Geographic Channel’s fourth series showcasing the spirit and courage of the Indian Forces. The channel has earlier produced and broadcast Mission Army (with the Indian Army in 2011), Mission Navy (with the Indian Navy in 2009) and Mission Udaan (with the Indian Air Force in 2005)
