‘Kingfisher Run in Costume’

Sunday morning witnessed a wave of creativity as ingenious Bangaloreans epitomized various edgy, whacky and comical characters to participate in the seventh edition of the ‘Kingfisher Run in Costume’, a part of the Majja Run at the TCS World 10K.

The ‘Kingfisher Run in Costume’ saw city enthusiasts competing in high spirits, with each entry leaving the audience entertained and forming a lasting impression in their minds.  Bangalore’s most colourful street carnival saw a record number of participants partake in the run. Participants were seen donning humorous, creative and out of the box costumes while a few advocated deep social causes leaving the crowd wanting for more. The eccentricity and quirkiness uplifted the creative factor making it a showcase worth watching and a jovial experience to take away.

Adding to the cheer, Kingfisher also gratified a few lucky participants with attractive rewards for the most creative costumes.

The winners of Kingfisher Premium Run in costume:

Kingfisher Sakkath Bangalorean

-Winners (Rs. 30,000)    Manas Kumar for depicting the justice system

-Runner’s up (Rs. 20,000)    RJ Raj for the water pollution at Yamlur Lake

-Third place (Rs. 10,000)    Concept depicting an Air Ambulance

Kingfisher Bombaat Brigade

->Winners (Rs. 75,000)    Let’s Live Together

->Runner’s up (Rs. 50,000)    Baale Mane

The participants were rewarded by Bangalore’s well known designer Namrata G who judged the Kingfisher Run-in-Costume for the individual and group prizes.

The ‘Kingfisher Run-in-Costume’ is part of the ‘Majja Run’ – a 6 km run which takes place alongside the actual TCS World 10K. The ‘Kingfisher Run-in-Costume’ has in the past resulted in a big street party with enthusiastic participation from thousands in innovative and crazy costumes.
