Celebrate your ‘Right to Travel’ with OYO this Republic Day Weekend
With the long weekend (Republic Day) around the corner, travel enthusiasts and impulse travelers are exploring options to recuperate from their hectic schedules. An analysis by OYO, India’s largest hospitality company, reveals that there has been a surge in hotel bookings for the upcoming Republic Day long weekend. The company further witnessed a 2X growth in booking for the duration in comparison to the same period last year.
The trend of taking ‘Mini Breaks’ has been picking up among urban Indians over the past few years. This year OYO has seen a rise in bookings for both leisure and non-leisure destinations. Places like Kochi, Munnar, Jaipur, Shimla, Manali, Goa and Visakhapatnam have topped the list of most preferred holiday spots for leisure travel. Non-leisure destinations including Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai have also seen high traction for the Republic Day weekend. The Republic Day parade and Jaipur Literature Festival are the major drivers for Delhi and Jaipur respectively.
Ritesh Agarwal, Founder & CEO, OYO said: “We’ve seen a strong spike in bookings for both leisure and non-leisure destinations for the first long weekend of 2018. There’s visible enthusiasm in travellers for OYO’s offering of beautiful and quality living spaces. In recent years, consumer market has changed and so has the mindset and the need of the travellers, who are going through a paradigm shift in the way they plan their travel. We have enabled distinct and unique experiences for them by ensuring convenient availability of quality accommodations across 230+ cities in India, Malaysia and Nepal.”
As a part of its ‘Mini Break Campaign’, OYO is offering a special offer of 30% discount across its network. Asking travellers to ‘Celebrate the Right to Travel, Celebrate the Right to Explore and Celebrate the Right to Chill’, the campaign encourages them to tap into their wanderlust and explore India’s top holiday destinations with OYO.
