Chola The Label by Sohaya Misra x Roma Narsinghani’s showcase at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter-Festive’18
The social effervescence of Chola meets the conceptual genius of jewellery designer, Roma Narsinghani in a unique collaboration of thought and creative process on the Lakmé Fashion Week Autumn/Winter‘18 runway. In a life dictated by black and white social norms, designer Sohaya Mishra’s latest offering seeks solace in the grey territory that symbolises the need to be able to express yourself when you’re not accepted.
Complementing her thought-provoking fare is Roma’s structural juxtaposition in her ‘Aerial Mumbai’ collection. The sweeping, panoramic views of Mumbai from an aerial vantage point serve as the muse for the pieces paired with Chola’s ‘Bye Felicia’collection. “We wanted to create pieces that focus on strength, while also showcasing the need for being you and accepting yourself the way you are. The pieces selected for the runway comprise of brass wires intertwining the designs to serve as a visual metaphor for this self-exploration. Taking inspiration from Chola’s aesthetic, you’ll find a bold contrast in the softer shapes paired with angular, 3D elements,” says Roma.
Expect the designer’s signature design perspective expressed through simple yet impactful pieces, including bobby pins, mini hair combs, earrings, hair barrettes, handcuffs, earcuffs, brooches and epaulets.
