Tara Sharma’s Touch Wood goes viral
Actress, Tara Sharma Saluja released a special Mommy’s Day music video whilst making her rap debut. In no time, the video went viral and has gained about 300K views in 48hrs on Facebook!
Commenting on the success of the video, Tara said, “To wish all you lovely Mummies this Mother’s Day I decided to do something really different and kinda crazy and I really hope you like it touch wood! It is our mad Mother’s Day surprise… a Mummy Daddy Kiddy Rap which has me rapping! Haaha yep I debut as a rapper! I am not really a rapper of course but it is fun to try new things and laugh at oneself sometimes I think. It was super fun shooting and writing it and recording the track was a great experience too. I co-wrote and performed it and it was co-directed by my husband Roopak and Ishita Puri. And co-produced by him and his company Sooperfly and me. Work is underway on Season 5 of our show, The Tara Sharma Show, which as you may know is a platform to discuss family, parenting, women’s and children’s issues with a view to helping bring about positive change, and sees me as an unbiased moderator with celebrity and non-celebrity guests. My image is perhaps one of being quite a sensible Mum discussing pertinent topics and in this rap we speak about all that and the show but also it shows a whole other side of me and the fact that of course Mums and Dads can also do mad things and let their hair down often with and sometimes without their kids too! Most people who know me know I am cautious and one of my favourite phrases is touch wood so guess what the track is called Touch Wood! I am overwhelmed by the amazing response to our video on all our social media platforms. Several celebrity and non-celebrity friends have shared the video and been super encouraging. I am so grateful and hope it is a success touch wood :)!”
