We want to support their hydration and nutrition needs which need to be specialised and safe to aid their practice and performance.”
Adding to the fireside chat held at the felicitation, Asian Games Tennis Mixed Doubles Gold Medallist, Rutuja Bhosale said, “It’s been a dream week for me and Rohan picking me to play mixed doubles with him. There are four of us in the team and I didn’t even expect it. We were having a camp in Lucknow and the Davis Cup was also happening and Rohan said, I am going to be playing with Rutuja. I pinched myself and asked Rohan are you sure? He said, yes, of course.”
She further stressed on the importance of nutrition and recovery from her recent experience at the Asian Games saying, “I generally play doubles and singles but this time around I was featured in all three events and it was going to be a challenge considering this was my first time doing so. My main goal was to go into the Asian Games and not come back hurt because I have been very injury-prone. So, my nutrition played a key role in it. We have been working with my nutritionist a lot just trying to keep me healthy. I have been focusing a lot on recovery. So, we kept the diet very high in carbs and protein. I eventually did end up playing three matches in a day and I believe that the years of work and nutrition that you put in really came through for me in that week. “
“I have been working with Fast&Up for the last five years and I have been using all the supplements which can help me throughout the journey to stay injury-free and the last three years have been really good. A dream week that really came all together winning a gold for India at the Asian Games and that too at the last one for Rohan. It is truly a core memory for me now” Bhosale concluded.
On the other hand, Asian Games Double Gold Medallist, Avinash Sable stressed how proper nutrition and supplements have enabled him to up his game.
He said, “When I broke the national record for the first time in 2018, I knew there was room to continue improving. The same year, I started using supplements that aided in better recovery and injury-prevention. In 2019, I came across Fast&Up products in the National Camp where we were prescribed supplements that were suggested by the nutritionists. At the Delhi Half Marathon in 2020, I started seeing the results of proper nutrition, and since then I have been using Fast&Up products.”
Finally, swimming being one of the more fitness-intensive sports, Indian Swimmer Srihari Nataraj said, “In the past decade there has been a lot of change as to how the coaches have approached the sport of swimming as a whole and with respect to nutrition in specific. Over the past five years coaches and swimmers both have realised how much nutrition can make a difference to the recovery. It is only when the recovery happens at a good rate, you can perform at a higher intensity. ”
He further added, “Particularly In swimming many of the athletes undereat because of image issues and I have faced that myself. It is very important for young swimmers and coaches to understand that a good balanced diet makes a difference. We have now more nutritionists involved in the sport. We have them show up at the tournaments and academies and give lectures to parents and coaches as well apart from the swimmers on the importance of proper nutrition and hydration. For swimming in particular that is something that most people require growing up as they train towards competing.”
