Hotter Than the Heatwave – India’s Most Unfaithful Cities Revealed

India-Top-Summer-Cities-v2

As temperatures rise across the country, so does the desire to explore connections beyond traditional relationship boundaries. According to new data from Ashley Madison, the world’s leading platform for exploring discreet relationships, Indian members are turning up the heat in unexpected places.

Based on sign-up data from June 2025, Ashley Madison has mapped the Top 20 Indian cities (per capita) where interest in non-monogamy is peaking this summer. While metro powerhouses like Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Pune feature prominently, it’s the unassuming yet bold cities like Kanchipuram, Dehradun, Kamrup, and Raigarh that are emerging as the season’s most surprising hotspots proving that the desire to redefine relationships is thriving far beyond just the urban elite.

What’s truly surprising is the meteoric rise of Kanchipuram, which was ranked #17 on Ashley Madison’s Winter 2024 list and has now skyrocketed to #1. This dramatic leap highlights the growing curiosity and openness toward non-traditional relationships in cities that have traditionally been seen as conservative or culturally rooted.

This trend offers a fresh look into how romantic and sexual norms are shifting across India, particularly in regions not typically associated with open relationship exploration.

Dr. Tammy Nelson, Resident Sex and Relationship Expert at Ashley Madisonexplains “Summer often brings a shift in mood and routine, with more travel, less structure, and a sense of freedom. These seasonal changes can prompt people to reassess their desires and explore what may be missing in their current relationships. Non-monogamy isn’t always about dissatisfaction. It’s often about curiosity, connection, and authenticity.”

Paul Keable, Chief Strategy Officer at Ashley Madison, adds “The data shows us that the desire to redefine relationship boundaries is no longer confined to major metros. We are seeing a strong rise in sign-ups from smaller cities, which indicates that people across India are seeking ways to explore intimacy on their own terms.”

The attached map offers a visual snapshot of India’s most non-monogamy-curious cities this summer. It reflects the emotional and cultural shifts behind this quiet but growing trend.
