With Malayalam audiences across the world eagerly awaiting the launch of Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 8, the latest promo featuring Mohanlal as Chanakya has been creating a buzz on social media. The much-awaited season is set to premiere on September 6.
‘Winning is not enough, you have to keep winning’ is the tagline of the new season. The concept emphasises that it is not about winning for just a day, but about surviving and winning across all 100 days to claim the Bigg Boss title.
Breaking away from the conventional format, the new promo has been crafted not merely as a promotional film but as a three-minute cinematic experience. Adding to its uniqueness is a gangster-themed storyline, a concept not previously explored in a Bigg Boss promo in India.
The promo revolves around Mohanlal being kidnapped by a criminal gang and his attempt to escape from their clutches. Playing the role of Chanakya, Mohanlal employs four strategic approaches — Sama, Dana, Bheda and Danda.
From attempting to resolve the situation through persuasion (Sama), to offering rewards (Dana), and creating differences within the gang (Bheda), Mohanlal uses Chanakya’s strategies to turn the situation in his favour. The climax also introduces ‘Danda’ — the strategy of punishment, reminding the gang that there is another way to deal with those who stand in his way.
While packed with cinematic action, the promo also offers glimpses into what viewers can expect from the upcoming season. It indicates that the house will function on the principles of democracy, where the members can collectively decide whom to eliminate or defeat through a majority decision.
The promo also hints that every decision taken by the contestants will carry consequences, underlining the importance and impact of their choices throughout the season.
Those selected through the Agni Pareeksha to find the Commoner will also become part of Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 8, which begins on September 6.
