MediBuddy attends to the needs of over 35,000 Indians daily across the country. The app connects patients to experienced and verified doctors for online consultations across 18 specialties such as Dermatology, Paediatrics, Gynaecology, and more, instantly via chat, video, or voice call.

Satish Kannan, Co-founder & CEO, MediBuddy speaks with MI. Kannan talks about marketing strategies and future plans of MediBuddy.

Q) Tell us more about the acquisition of Clinix?

Satish: MediBuddy began with a vision of making high-quality healthcare accessible to a Billion Indians. MediBuddy’s acquisition of Clinix will help us scale our operations further, expand services to the interiors in rural India, and make quality healthcare within reach to scores of people who need the same.
Clinix has a broad reach and presence in remote areas, which, coupled with our network and infra-tech support, makes us all the more enabled to expand our services. Another big step closer to achieving our vision of making high-quality healthcare accessible to a billion Indians.

Q) How is MediBuddy trying to get hold of the market in the current scenario?

Satish: While keeping our users in the center, MediBuddy is building its services to cater to their healthcare needs. To deliver a good customer experience, organizations must turn into customer-centric organizations. A product/service built, maintained, and grown without taking its customer in the center is built on sand. A product/service, on the other hand, that is designed and managed by a customer-centric team has a rock-solid foundation. We at MediBuddy, keep taking regular feedback from our users & build on them. This will continue to help us maintain our leading position in digital healthcare.

Q) What are your marketing strategies?

Satish: We aim to position ourselves as a common household name and amplify our reach in every nook and corner of the country. We want to raise awareness about the availability of high-quality healthcare easily accessible at the fingertips, especially in rural areas. To enable the same, we recently onboarded Bollywood Megastar Amitabh Bachchan as our official brand ambassador. We will use a healthy mix of digital and offline marketing channels to reach out to users.

Q) With a massive number of network partners, how is the brand coping with the growing competition in the market?

Satish: We are glad that more companies are entering the space. It helps grow the category we built. This will help make digital health reach individuals faster because of the collective efforts.  thus, allowing patients to benefit.
Additionally, we have one of the largest partner networks in the category. The network has over 90,000 doctors, 7000 hospitals, 3000 diagnostic centers, 2500 pharmacies covering 96% pin-codes in India, and a 2400-member team across 22 Indian cities.

Q) What is the plan ahead?

Satish: Currently, we help 35k patients daily; our next milestone is to help 1lakh patients daily. Assisting the patients is the metric, so we are focusing on that.
