Celebrating International Women’s Day and to acknowledge constant support from Women and Doctors, India’s most trusted Unani brand, Hamdard Laboratories (Medicine Division), launches the Hamdard Wellness Campaign. At the time of the pandemic, the women at home and the doctors supported constantly and their efforts have been celebrated through this initiative.
Across Meerut, Hamdard’s centred its popular Health Vans initiative on offering free health consultation to women, as a part of the campaign. With this initiative, Hamdard plans to touch thousands of lives. Keeping in mind the need for the right knowledge to treat health issues such as PCOS/PCOD and personal concerns, Hamdard will also offer a free consultation to women at their well-known Hamdard Wellness Centers across the country. On 8th March, the women doctors will be promoting Women & Health in radio cross centres, providing Unani solution for all.
Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Abdul Majeed, Chairman, Hamdard Laboratories (Medicine Division) said, “The history of Hamdard is peppered with many nuanced stories. Today, stories of my great grandmother Rabia Begum is what I remember fondly, as narrated to me by my grandfather. In 1906, in the undivided India’s capital, Delhi, a devoted, determined, yet unworldly man, Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed, laid the foundation of Hamdard Dawakhana. What started as a small Unani clinic in one of the by lanes of the historic old Delhi, Unfortunately, Hakeem Abdul Majeed passed away quite early but his wife, Rabia Begum, with the support of her 2 sons kept the institution in existence.. Under her leadership, Hamdard expanded; she dedicated the whole Hamdard business to charity and to the service of humankind as per the true teachings of Islam. I believe that the spirit and determination of a woman is a thing to admire and I wish the very best to all.”
Expressing her commitment to the initiative, Ms Suman Varma, Chief Marketing Officer, Hamdard Laboratories (Medicine Division) said, “Hamdard Wellness offers quality Unani medicines and expert Unani physicians under one roof. It offers healthcare and disease management services. Our goal is to address the unmet medical needs of millions of patients and spread the net to increase the accessibility of Unani system of medicines.”
