On the release of her new single ‘Meri Odhe Naal’, Neha Bhasin said, “Meri Odhe Naal is a traditional Punjabi song and our constant endeavour is to traditionally urbanise the folk sound and bring it to the masses. The largeness of the audio comes from Dhol, Tumbi, Algoze and many more earthy instruments all of which have been played live by Legendary artists such as Kuki and Yamlaji from Jalandhar. Sameer wanted to retain the originality of the sound of Punjab hence he wanted to record the musicians live.”
She added, “Bhangra is a beautiful dance form slowly making its place in the mainstream dance forms worldwide. The video has great influences of Bhangra and funk Bhangra. The video is ultra-glamorous where desi meets high fashion styling. Being passionate about dancing I wanted to bring this side of me to my fans. Coconut Films, Director Shekhar Kamble and Choreographer Deepak Singh, brought my dreams of a dance video alive through Mere Odhe Naal.”
