Jonita Gandhi Croons Two Punjabi New Year Anthem For Bhangra Paa Le

As colorful as her personality, Jonita Gandhi’s records highlight the same. Countless, diverse and myriad are the three words that describe her journey in 2019. Numerous groovy tracks in multiple languages and genres, our lady has definitely made a statement. With the New Year just around the corner, we all surely need the perfect beats to get us grooving effortlessly. The 2 new songs “Peg Sheg” & ‘Sun Sajna’, for an upcoming movie “Bhangra Paa Le” will set just the right vibe for the New Year’s night.

For Peg Sheg, Jonita has been partnered with Akasa, Shashwat Singh and A-bazz for vocals and Sun Sajna has been sung by Jonita Gandhi, Navraj Hans, Yash Narvekar and Kiranee. The talented bunch from jam8 along with Rishi Rich (for Sun Sajna) has composed both the songs in addition to also penning down lyrics for the tracks.

“Being a Punjabi it’s always fun working in any space that’s remotely Punjabi, so naturally I had a great time recording these songs! I love being in studio with the team at jam8. Recording Peg Sheg was like a party behind the mic (my kind of fun!). Sun Sajna was the first time I worked with Rishi Rich. It was a great experience, and brought back the feels of Bollywood-Bhangra from the early 2000s. I hope to work with him again in the future.” says Jonita.

Bhangra paa le has been an adventure inside the studio for me. From singing my first remake of a legendary song(Ho ja rangeela) for Shubham Shirule and Rishi Rich, to singing my personal highest note in another (Peg Sheg) for A-bazz, Moit and Nilotpal. The best part, I got to share the songs with some amazing co-singers like Jonita Gandhi, Akasa Singh. The process revealed my own potential to me. I am thankful to the composers, arrangers at jam8 studio and the studio engineers and supervisors. And a big thank you to Sneha Taurani for giving me this lovely opportunity. To Bhangra dance offs!
