Call it newsroom freedom, or editorial respect – at its core, it’s the unyielding pursuit of a story’s soul. However, a true journalist always seeks unwavering support and trust, where his editorial integrity is appraised. A recent report suggests that a senior journalist, Bharat Shrivastava, who had joined NDTV India as executive Producer earlier in June, has resigned from the position. In just 20 days, he changed his mind and re-joined his previous office AajTak. As per reports, he has been entrusted with the position of editor for Aaj Tak’s flagship show – Black and White.
In his next chapter with Aaj Tak, Bharat will be overseeing the editing and writing of the show. Previously, Bharat was leading the editorial for Sudhir Chaudhary’s Black and White show. Later he associated with Sudhir Chaudhary’s DD news show, Decode. Recently, he left the show and moved on to NDTV India for better opportunities.
Bharat Shrivastava started his career as a journalist in 2017 from News18, where he worked as an associate of senior journalist Kishore Ajwani. In 2020, he joined Zee News. His position included editing for Sudhir Chaudhry’s show DNA. In 2022, he left his job there and moved to Aaj Tak.
At Media Infoline, while we refrain from judgment, the very act challenges conventional wisdom: why would an individual, barely settled in a new role, choose to pivot back so decisively? This situation opens a broader debate on what truly anchors a journalist: Is it the prestige of a position, the lure of a larger salary, or an unwavering commitment to a particular editorial vision, a team, or perhaps even a specific freedom to pursue stories that they found uniquely available at their former home?
