After two years long halt, this year’s festive season is much anticipated from consumer and brand perspectives. According to the latest Axis my India report, 20% of consumers plan to shop more this festive season. The brands, therefore, are expected to see a surge in demand for the products. The festive season is around the corner, and we are doing a series to understand the festive zeal among brands. We will peek into the FMCG industry and talk with brands about the effect of Indian festivals on the industry.

Mohit Goyal, Co-Founder, and MD Swiss Beauty:

How are festivals going to affect the FMCG brands?

We have geared our supply chain as we foresee demand in the makeup and cosmetic categories. After two slow years, we are eyeing positive returns this festive season as consumers are likely to spend more than usual. Moreover, both offline and online markets have returned to normalcy. Therefore, we expect more footfall compared to the last two years. This year, we anticipate a 30% increase in sales.

What are the plans ahead?

Our offline and online consumer consumption is relatively high, as we expect a 20% increase in traffic. After two years of the pandemic, people are finally willing to splurge on leisure and personal care. Since we are a product experience company, we anticipate a rise in offline consumer traction. To further improve customer engagement, we ramped up our advertising and promotional offers during this festive period.

What kind of campaigns are planned around the festivals?

We haven’t planned extensive campaigns, but we are doing something different for all festivals. For instance, Karvachauth is the first significant event to kickstart the festival season, and we are excited about it. We garner substantial sales each year during this time. As a women’s beauty brand, we usually witness a sales spike from October to December.
