The Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Kiran Mani, CEO of Jio Hotstar, as the new Chair of its Digital Entertainment Committee. Mr. Deepit Purkayastha, Co-founder and CEO of Inshorts, has been appointed as the Co-Chair. Their tenure will be for a period of two years.
The Digital Entertainment Committee of the IAMAI plays a key role in bringing together leading voices from the streaming ecosystem to engage on industry trends, policy matters, and innovation in digital media. The committee primarily focuses on addressing key policy and regulatory challenges impacting the digital entertainment sector, while working towards the holistic growth and long-term stability of the industry.
Mr. Mani and Mr. Purkayastha take over the leadership from Mr. Rohit Jain, President of Lionsgate Play and Mr. Amit Doshi of Pratilipi, Head of IVM Podcasts at Pratilipi who served as the previous Chair and Co-Chair, respectively. Under their guidance, the committee contributed significantly to industry-wide conversations around piracy content innovation and the evolving regulatory landscape.
